Acrylic, also named as PMMA or Plexiglas, is what we call organic glass, which is seen everywhere in our daily life. Its chemical name is Polymeric Methyl Methacrylate(PMMA), and is made from the Methyl Methacrylate(MMA) monomer after 5-6 hours’ heating and polymerization.

    Acrylic is a kind of important thermoplastic and developed very early. It is widely used in building industry and advertising area because of its good transparency, chemical stability, weather resistance, easy dyeing and processing, beautiful surface.

    As the biggest characteristic of acrylic, the light transmittance can reach to more than 92% and it can absorb 73.5% ultraviolet. It has high mechanical strength, weather resistance, corrosion resistance, insulating property, stable measurement. In addition, it can be easily molded, such as grease cup, car light, instrumentation parts, optical glasses, decorating gifts. Up to now, acrylic is the best material in transparent polymerization plastic. Now, it has the pervasive applications in light box, advertising sign, lighting lamp and building decoration etc.
